Meet Your Hosts, Jonah Smith and Lexie Murgatroyd
Jonah has been fishing the waters of Vancouver Island his whole life. Having taken the time to learn the waterways, his number one goal is to make every guests’ experience unique and unforgettable. He looks forward to making your fishing adventure your annual vacation year after year.
Lexie’s passion for health and fitness extends to the hospitality and dining experience of the North Shore Lodge. Providing guests with nutritious meals of the highest quality is her goal during your stay. After a full day of fishing, she ensures the lodge is ready for guests to enjoy great conversation, incredible meals and a relaxing environment.
We strive to make our guests’ days action-packed in the waters of North Vancouver Island, and the evenings a relaxing environment to unwind and disconnect.

Set on an idyllic waterfront property, The Lodge is your private accommodation, offering an unparalleled northern Vancouver Island experience. The space, exclusive to your party throughout the duration of your stay, features two panoramic living rooms, a spacious and inviting dining area, waterfront bedrooms and a downstairs bar, steps away from the ocean. Every square foot of the Lodge provides a comfort-forward atmosphere with ample opportunity to experience the wild island vistas from decks on every floor. When the boat is docked for the day, take in a breathtaking west coast sunset from the hot tub, or feel the crisp island air around the fire pit. We take pleasure in providing you with a home away from home during your stay with us.
Included in your trip package are freshly prepared, chef-inspired meals. Lunches consist of an on-board barbeque (if conditions allow), while breakfasts and dinners are served at the lodge. The menu was created by Vancouver Island Chef Stephanie Noel, and uses local, seasonal ingredients wherever possible. Enjoy delicious food and drinks in a warm, relaxing atmosphere while overlooking the ocean. It’s the perfect way to cap off long days on the water.
Outdoor adventure awaits you, two hours north of Campbell River in the historical town of Port McNeill. Originally settled in 1936 and named after Captain William Henry McNeill of the Hudson’s Bay Company. The town began as a base camp for loggers, which is why the town provides us with a connection to our own family history.
Come join us and explore the scenic waterways of Port McNeill. Take in the action and the ecotourism while fishing the waters of these natural surroundings. The land and sea provide visitors with an experience and memories to last a lifetime.
